CRH China Railway Highspeed

It can reach speed of about 250 km/ hour, as shown on my Nokia E71 GPS (well 248 kph, close enough)
China is currently building a high speed railways network. Although the trains are often labelled as “locally made train” they are actually based on European and Japanese design. This one that I took last week was based on the Japanese E2 Shinkansen train built by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, it was named CRH-2 in China.

China Navy

Yesterday, China People’s Liberation Army Navy celebrates its 60th anniversary. As part of the celebration they had a big parade of Chinese modern naval fleet in Qingdao city on the Shandong peninsula.
I took this pictures in a park nearby my apartment. It is a idyllic park, with hanging weeping willow trees, well manicured greenery, flock of white doves and old people chatting and playing chess. All of which makes this old torpedo boat parked on a serene pond in a quiet park in the middle of a crowded city so out of place.
